Angie McMahon’s powerful songs have a way of completely drawing you in with a single note. The Aussie musician combines soul, folk and rock ‘n roll, with an arresting voice you’ll recognize out of thousands. When she was just nineteen, McMahon opened up for Bon Jovi after winning a talent competition in Melbourne. But instead of rising to fame quickly, she instead chose to finish art school first and to focus on her nine-piece soul band. To quote one of her best songs, ‘Slow Mover’, patience has served McMahon well, becoming a chart success on her own terms, while supporting the likes of Father John Misty, The Shins and Angus & Julia Stone.
