Christine And The Queens
If we had to pick one concert to catch in its entirety, then it would unquestionably be Christine and The Queens. At Best Kept Secret 2016, Héloïse Létissier put on an unforgettable performance on our Main Stage. And believe it or not, she has only become a bolder and more electrifying artist. Christine and the Queens released her second album Chris last fall with paramount critical acclaim, the most celebratory and passionate extension of Létissier’s vision to date.
So cogent in fact, that the combined forces of Mark Ronson and Damon Albarn were not needed for their services in the studio. As immediately infectious and compelling as Chris is, the same goes for the new live show: Létissier has taken on the role of director, choreographer, and star, allowing the spontaneous energy to spill over at her bidding. Though Christine and The Queens’ bona fide pop is thrilling and contagious, it also makes you think, makes you laugh and most importantly, it makes you bust out all the moves.
