Deerhunter’s body of work can be summed up in numerous superlatives, but a boring and predictable live band? Never. Frontman Bradford Cox has both dresses and gypsy hats in his wardrobe, and impulsively performs mellower songs as caustic punk anthems and vice versa. The band wildly veers from dreamy electronica to acidic noiserock, and even bouncy eighties pop in the vein of INXS or The Clash. Deerhunter remains an resolutely elusive bunch, with fortunately one constant factor: a knack for great songs.
