Ever since their breathtaking reunion show in Hilvarenbeek back in 2014, we’ve been waiting to invite Slowdive back to Best Kept Secret! Call it shoegaze, ambient, minimal pop or post rock, Slowdive have been influential from the nineties and beyond. Their classic album Souvlaki interjected Brian Eno and the majestic dream pop of Cocteau Twins, whereas obscure masterpiece Pygmalion channeled the sublime silence and minimalism of the later Talk Talk records. Last year, Slowdive’s self-titled album punctuated one of the most momentous comebacks in recent memory. You can forgive the Best Kept Secret organization for taking a break during this performance, right?
