Multi-instrumentalist Lætitia Tamko, born in Cameroon, moved to New York at the age of fourteen. Here, Tamko discovered the guitar, subsequently crafting irresistible indie rock in the vein of Pacific Northwest heavyweights Modest Mouse and Built To Spill. It wasn’t always this easy: at one point, Vagabon had already given up music to pursue a career as a computer programmer. Dropping a few songs Bandcamp can be an actual game-changer these days, and promptly, Vagabon ended up performing alongside like-minded artists such as Frankie Cosmos. An that was it. Her magnificent debut LP Infinite Worlds was released last year and, according to her, it’s made for the ‘weird girls’. Indeed, Vagabon is a force to be reckoned with.
