A few highlights from the program!

Here we go! After two years of waiting we can finally go wild. With great pride and enthusiasm we share the full program of Best Kept Secret 2022. Quickly go to the full program to take a deep dive in all the musical and cultural highlights.

The known and unknown
We are always working very hard to keep the program as diverse as our visitors. With this in mind we like to give the stages to all kinds of talented artists, from the wildly popular to some hidden gemstones. Yasmin Williams is one of those gems who(m) has been a best kept secret. Williams is a ground-breaking, style-shifting guitarist whose compositions lift the listener to scenic pastures evoking wanderlust, curiosity and creativity.

Switching from scenic to elements of hip hop and indie we are delighted to announce the pioneering duo Sad Night Dynamite. This Duo has been labelled as rare geniuses who can curate contrasting elements into cohesive, adventurous pop music.

If you like variety as much as we do, we have another vigorous secret to announce. From Africa to America, via Australia and back this rapper and producer uses a vibrant combination of funk, soul, R&B, hip-hop, spoken word and traditional folk. No one less then Sampa The Great will perform at Best Kept Secret 2022.

Jacks-of-all-trades
The term ‘jack-of-all-trades’ seems to be invented for musicians. Music speaks a vast, timeless and universal language everyone understands. Many artists draw their inspiration from the past, present, future and personal experiences, so does Genesis Owusu. Anchored by his depressions and personal demons, his infectious bizarro pop sprouts to the surface with a joyous abandon. For his acclaimed 2021 LP ‘Smiling With No Teeth’ he found inspiration in times where cats hustled the clubs, in punk rock and the virtuoso hip hop producers of today.

Another type of artist where the term ‘jack-of-all-trades’ seems to be invented for is Sky Ferreira. She’s a musician, an actress, a model and everything in between. Her upcoming masterpiece ‘Masochist’ is considered a best kept secret of her own, one well worth revealing when the time is nigh.

We are also very proud to be able to give the stage to a band who’s notorious for their spry reworkings of Turkish folk and psychedelic music, Altin Gün. This genre-defying touring machine with a constant x-factor ads elements of French pop, kraut rock, latin and electronic music into the mix. Altin Gün makes you want to move well into the break of dawn.

Spectacular and romantic vibes

The relief washes over us in an awesome wave to spill the tea about some of the musical secrets we’ve been keeping from you. We are extremely proud to announce the return of UK’s boldest, brainiest pop phenomenon alt-J. This Indie rock band will make sure to be a feast for your eyes and ears with their spectacular light shows and hits like ‘Get Better’ and ‘U&ME’.

What's your pleasure?

To stay on British soil, we like to introduce you to one of the UK’s foremost pop icons Jessie Ware. What’s your pleasure? is the title of Jessie Ware’s most acclaimed album yet: a contemporary, sleek-fitting take on disco-inflected, open-hearted dance romps. The record marks one of the UK’s foremost pop icons at peak form at exactly the right time. So remember where you are: witnessing Jessie Ware steal the spotlight at Best Kept Secret.

Music through the lens of culture, culture through the lens of music

In addition to the musical program, you will also find the many new collaborations we have recently started on our renewed website, including De Pont museum and Club Smederij from Tilburg, Kiosk Radio from Brussels and restaurant BAK from Amsterdam. Curious what they will do at Best Kept Secret? Find out everything there's to know about BKS Culture.
