BKS—Club

BKS—Club x Willem Twee

Introducing BKS—Club. A One-Day Infinity of Music and Culture.

BKS—Club is a series of events for the Best Kept Secret community where we’re teaming up with new and familiar BKS cultural partners, music acts, visual artists, creative initiatives and more.

Good news, if you have a ticket for BKS25 you’re now a member of BKS—Club! This means, among other things, that you receive a substantial discount on these events. More info below.

For the first edition of BKS—Club on Saturday 1 February, we’re proud to announce that we are traveling to Willem Twee, Den Bosch! Willem Twee serves as a staple in the local music and visual art scene, and its iconic location - a former cigar factory - provides the ultimate backdrop to connect and blend disciplines.

For this edition we’re presenting music by Library Card, Secret Artists In Residence (Live), Future Husband and Mood Bored as well as art expositions by Elsemarijn Bruys, Vera Meulendijks and The Blobs (GLOW Academy x SintLucas).

Capacity is very limited, so we'd advise you to act fast and join us for a One-Day Infinity of Music and Culture to kick off this brand new series of events with us!

MUSIC

Library Card
Rotterdam’s fast-rising post-punk quartet are a powerhouse on stage, and a band of many layers and contrasts. Their music evokes the toils of keeping up with the world, as well as the small everyday joys that serve as rallying points. It’s not exactly shocking one of their songs references the existentialist philosopher Kierkegaard: this is a band that has perfected the art of giving a shit – both the scathing and soul-searching kind.

Secret Artists In Residence (Live)
Our Secret Artist In Residence project derives from an ambition to connect creative souls without knowing the outcome. After spending a week in Willem Twee Studios, the acts will perform live. Who knows where music will take us.

Future Husband
Nothing truly ends or begins inside Future Husband’s cinematic synthesis of synth-pop, neo-soul and indie rock. The group, spearheaded by songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Adura Sulaiman, projects a tasteful canvas of tension-and-release in melody, texture and voice. Future Husbands music acts almost like a portal between heaven and earth… with some smooth-as-silk bass action to weld it all together.

Mood Bored
Everyone has a plan until they get hit. Fortunately, Dutch-alt rock charmers Mood Bored have found a potent way to deal with life’s sucker punches: winsome indie tunes peppered with shine and scorn, played with that unteachable loose-limbed cool of Sonic Youth and DIIV. It takes special talent to pen songs that make life on the dole seem entertaining, and suffice it to say, we’re not getting bored with this bunch anytime soon.

ART

Elsemarijn Bruys

Elsemarijn Bruys (1989, NL) creates sculptures and architectural interventions, always rooted in spatial experience. A hallmark of her work is inflatables: sculptures of various sizes, colors, and shapes. “I’m fascinated by how much space air occupies without us noticing. Inflatable artworks are nothing without air—just heaps of material. But with air, they transform, gaining shape, value, and meaning,” Bruys explains.

In 2024, she unveiled Knaldrang, an eight-meter-tall sculpture at Best Kept Secret, towering over festivalgoers as they entered. “The sculpture bursts at the seams, much like the festivalgoers’ excitement,” she says. At BKS—Club x Willem Twee, the piece returns as a welcoming feature at Willem Twee’s entrance.

Vera Meulendijks
Vera Meulendijks (1993, Tilburg, NL) works at the intersection of analog imperfection and digital precision, often with a strong graphic focus. Her diverse body of work includes drawings, prints, textiles, glass, and ceramics, through which she explores perspective, geometric patterns, and the tension between form and line. By balancing order and chaos, and blending analog with digital processes, her work celebrates imperfection in a world striving for precision and control.

Movement plays a central role in Vera’s work, preserving fleeting moments. Her new installation at Willem Twee Kunstruimte draws inspiration from the seasons and the interplay of city and nature. As winter fades and spring approaches, it captures the excitement of renewal and the festival season, perfect for BKS—Club x Willem Twee!

The Blobs (GLOW Academy x SintLucas)
Students from SintLucas studied the movement and shapes of droplets at the GLOW Academy. There, they designed the Blobs, each with its own unique form and ‘life.’ These lively, slimy entities emit light in a way that is both mesmerizing and inviting. As you approach, the Blobs change color, as if responding to your presence. This artwork raises questions about how we engage with unknown life forms and the world around us. It invites you to experiment with these alien objects. How do they react to your approach? What happens when you get closer? Let your curiosity run free and discover the secrets the Blobs have in store!
