The Lodge dinners (information & tickets)
Everything and everyone connected through music. For this brand new edition of Best Kept Secret, we thought about how we wanted to present a more complete festival experience than ever to you, with music as the common denominator. That’s why we asked our favourite chefs to prepare a nice meal based on their favourite artists. They will do so at The Lodge, our special three day curated restaurant with a lake view, in between the festival entrance and The Secret. Curated by Alessandro da Fies!
On Friday we have two timeslots at The Lodge. These two timeslots will be given subtance to by the chefs of Euro Pizza. Together with Rein op 't Root and the boys of 4B2M, they will serve a family style dinner. During this grand meal you can enjoy all of Euro Pizza’s Greatest Hits, served to you with that necessary dose of charm and charisma. By the way, despite the name Euro Pizza is a very atypical pizza restaurant. There are many more tasty dishes on the menu. According to Rein pizza is quite secondary in his restaurant!

De Nieuwe Keuken with Lekker Fred Live
From his Pulled Paddo’s Paleis, Vjeze Fur (aka Freddy Tratlehner, one-third of Dutch hip-hop heavyweights De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig) and his mom present an unparalleled dinner show where we'll witness an absolute world premiere; the launch of his own vegetable brand 'De Nieuwe Keuken'. Be the first to taste, dance, sing, laugh, cry and/or drink. The ideal way to start the second day of BKS after a memorable opening night.

Restaurant Gebr. Hartering is a cozy and welcoming neighborhood restaurant located in the scenic scenery of Rapenburg. Inspired by the "table d'hôte" concept, these brothers offer a unique dining experience located at the heart of Amsterdam. This place is always looking for the most beautiful seasonal products that are produced with great attention and love for nature. They attain these from small-craft suppliers, preferably asclose to home as possible. Hartering serves Mavis Staples-inspired hot dogs at The Lodge.
This timeslot will cost €20,- (incl. service fee) and will give you two delicious Mavis Staples-inspired hot dogs.

At Cornerstore you gobble down bistro style, Asian-inspired dishes, drink savoury natural wines and listen to the best vinyl. Cornerstore (located in Amsterdam) is, obviously, stationed on a corner. However, it is not a shop! It’s actually a light and spacious restaurant with a bar, plus a handmade cabinet full of 'sound': gigantic speakers and rare LPs. The menu is simple and offers dishes with an eclectic Asian twist, often adding Dutch ingredients, seasoned with a fresh bite and plenty of sharpness and depth. It doesn't matter whether you like meat, fish or vegetables, the menu offers goodness in each culinary category. The chefs are up on stage cooking, and with that the musical circle-around-the-block is once again complete.

Milan Gataric Lux & troppo Giovane
Restaurant LUX has been in Rotterdam for more than 25 years. Milan Gataric has been the chef and owner since 2013. His cuisine and wine list are inspired by the seasons and small-scale producers. At The Lodge, chef Gataric will team up with Troppo Giovane. Troppo Giovane is a wine trading company founded by Alessandro da Fies and Théo Cauchois.
For the price of €47,50 (incl. service fee) you can enjoy a lovely multiple course dinner. An orange wine tasting is available at The Lodge as an optional extra.

Benny Blisto, BAK Restaurant
A while ago we asked Benny to create a menu which is entirely inspired by the The Strokes’ first album Is This It. During our conversiation he mentioned filmserie Twin Peaks, Warren Ellis - his love for Dirty Three and Nick Cave and felt so inspired by creating something very organic and earthy. From this moment on his ideas are taking shape. Benny is the chef at BAK, the restaurant in a warehouse in the old lumber port of Houthavens, Amsterdam. We know him as a music lover. His love voor Cave came within the years. When his album: “Push the Sky Away” was released, Beny began to realise the genius of this man.
For the Saturday afternoon, Benny will serve a multiple course culinary masterpeace as an ode to Nick Cave. This vegetarian food special will be available very limited and will take place at a very long table around The Lodge by the lake. It will be as unsetteling as comforting as Nick Cave’s music so it’s the ultimate secret to unravel.

Achttien uur Bar-B-Que
Achttien Uur Bar-B-Que is a concept inspired by the American BBQ culture, which mainly entails smoking meat and vegetables instead of grilling them. In the States, the method differs per state how they do it and which animals or vegetables they use.
Achttien Uur Bar-B-Que apply the South Carolina whole hog style, which is a direct oakwood coal smoking technique, which means the whole animal and the vegetables are smoked over oakwood coals. They use a very old organic free-range pig that has had a good life, and cauliflowers (for vegetarians) for the vegetables. They then use it all – from head to tail – which is important, because everything contributes to the overall taste. Plus, isn’t it a shame if you don't use everything at your disposal?
After all, in the old days, each and every part of an animal was always either eaten or used. And because everything is used, you’ll get a mix of ham, pork belly, shoulder and well, you name it! Honest to goodness, it is an explosion of taste to truly behold. On top of that, Achttien Uur Bar-B-Que always serve the smoked whole hog with fresh American sides. There are many delicious traditional side dishes that we mix with more modern sides. Heck, we even serve our own made-up sides! Indeed, with every menu comes the requisite classic American dessert, because when it comes to good BBQ-cookin’, the afters are always of vital essence.
