Spectral folk of quiet devastation

Quietude can be extremely heavy, something Skullcrusher’s hazy alt-folk most certainly illustrates.

Funny thing: the Skullcrusher moniker was hatched by Helen Ballentine when she started a DJ project mixing My Bloody Valentine and Autechre. When that didn't pan out, it just stuck when she decided to pen haunting finger-picking folk songs that seem to exist inside of a David Lynch or Kiyoshi Kurasawa picture. Skullcrusher expertly treads a fine line between beauty and devastation.
