Gert Wessels

Gert Wessels makes colorful and unusual artworks, using a unique soft material called polyurethane foam. He shapes it into all sorts of wild and unexpected shapes; to make them strong, he adds layers of fiberglass and acrylic. Gert doesn't start with a fixed idea of what he's going to make, allowing the shapes to form organically. This means every piece of art he makes is a surprise…even to himself!
