Starting out as a zeitgeist-defining indie band, DIIV now dare to be more conceptual and offbeat in their music.

For their latest LP Zirp!, the band enlisted none other than PC Music producer A.G. Cook, dragging frontman Zachary Cole Smith's voice out of the reverb-drenched marshes for a more pop-inspired direction. And for DIIV, that's a pretty good look indeed.

So what's DIIV's secret?
Like with most bands, a deep friendship and a willingness to undergo the wild motions of being a band together. DIIV have survived the hype and the drama and then some to evolve as one of the most consistently great bands of the past decade.
