A Phoebe Bridgers song can be a little frightening, a little soothing, a little devastating, and a little bit funny as well... a little bit of all those things.

The Californian songwriter pens songs so impressive in scope and atmospherics, things that normally feel too complex and overwhelming suddenly become easier to digest. After 2020's Punisher catapulted Bridgers to superstardom, her latest album project Lost Weekend reaffirms what makes her one of the greatest to ever do it.

So what's Phoebe Bridgers' secret?
Bridgers makes sound and atmospherics paint as much of a story as melody and words: her songs feel like tiny movies playing out within the intimacy of her mind. And they can become grand and cinematic at the most unexpected, thrilling moments.
